“Where the Wild Things Are” Party & Printables

“Where the Wild Things Are” Party & Printables

My oldest son Jonah’s second birthday is only two weeks away.  While planning for his upcoming party, I remembered all of the DIY decorations I made for his first birthday.  I thought it would be a great idea to give away everything I made for his “A Wild One” party.  It was “Where the Wild Things Are” themed and he even wore a Max costume.   I will do my best to include links to where items were purchased as well as download links to all of the “Where the Wild Things Are” printables. Not all printables are pictured below, so be sure to check the full list to get everything available.

I created the “A Wild One” Banner by printing it onto cardstock, hole punching the top, and stringing twine through the holes.

I ordered the smash cake and cupcakes from Walmart Bakery. They are currently having a special where you get a free smash cake with a bakery purchase of $15 or higher.  The Cake Topper and Cupcake Toppers came from PaperlyPress on Etsy. The cupcake stand and tropical leaves are from Amazon.

I created the graphic in the background and it is now hanging in my son’s playroom as wall art. I changed the text to Birthday – King of All Wild Things so that you can download it for yourself. Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables

For party food, I created Table Tents with clever names relating to the theme. We had Moss Balls (Cheese Balls), Crowns (Peanut-butter & Jelly Sandwiches), and Monster Teeth (Apples, Peanut Butter, and Marshmallows).  I made cheese balls and rolled them in chopped parsley for a mossy look.  They were a huge hit and turned out even better than I expected!  I included the recipe below. I used a Large Crown Cookie Cutter from Amazon to cut out the sandwiches and toasted them.  The monster teeth were also a really fun food for the kids and very easy to make. Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables

I created a Crown Yourself Print and put it in a basket with Gold Crowns i got from Amazon.  We took photos of Jonah in his “Where the Wild Things Are” Costume and framed them in Walmart frames to display around the house.

The Leaf Garland can be bought from Amazon and the Gold One Balloon from Hobby Lobby. I bought a “Where the Wild Things Are” Book from Amazon and asked people to write a note to Jonah on the front cover for a keepsake. I edited the graphic to say “Our Wild One” instead of Jonah’s name so you can use it too! You can print this Birthday Keepsake Note here.Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables

Jonah’s favorite part about the party was riding around in his boat just like Max from the book.  We used poster board, tape, and markers to create a boat from his Radio Flyer wagon.  Of course his Build-A-Bear had to come along for the ride.Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables

Lastly, I used the same prints from the “A Wild One” Banner but only printed out the crowns and the one to make bunting for his highchair.  He had a blast eating cake for the first time, and had to change clothes to open his presents.Where the Wild Things Are Party & Printables

Little Lamb Wall Art

Little Lamb Wall Art

Time to get cozy with this little lamb.  Do you need wall art for your farmhouse? A fluffy friend for your nursery? This print does it all and will fit any color scheme. Frame it in a gold frame for a sweet, sophisticated look or in a rustic wood frame for a country feel.

This free printable was inspired by one of our most loved prints (The Minimal Cow).  Since the minimal cow was published, it has been pinned on Pinterest over 10 thousand times and is hanging on walls around the world, including blogger Taryn Whiteaker. To make the lamb feel more soft and cuddly a hand painted effect was applied and the background was removed.

Lego Patents Wall Art – Set of 4

Lego Patents Wall Art – Set of 4

As a mom of two boys, we are all about Legos.  We play with every size Lego, watch Lego movies, and go to Legoland. It seems like Legos grew up with me.  A lot of the block sets today are aimed at teenagers to adults with thousands of pieces per set.  Lately, I find myself dreaming about building my own palaces and skyscrapers from the Lego Architecture sets.  I have found 4 original Lego patents from 1958-1979.   By now, most Lego patents have already expired, but you can still hang them on your wall as a homage to your childhood.

You can find almost any patent online from Google’s Patent Search but many early patents aren’t in good condition.  I have spent time to edit and clean up these original patents so that they look like they did when they were originally filed. I’m guessing the scanners, years ago, weren’t that great because most of the patents were scanned and filed sideways with lots of marks.  Luckily, you don’t have to worry about any of that.  You can just print and hang these original works of art.

If you are interested in me doing patents more often, leave a comment below on what you would like to see.

Baby’s First Year Milestones

Baby’s First Year Milestones

As a mother of a 9 month old, I know how important it is to document your baby’s first year.  I love to look back and see how different he has changed from month to month.  I remember between month 3 and 4, Jonah went from being a skinny tiny baby to a fat linebacker.  It breaks my heart that they grow up so fast, but with these printable milestone cards you can remember your baby boy or girl forever.

Peter Pan Wall Art – Set of 4

One of my new favorite movies is Pan. It is a beautifully written prequel to an already loved classic. Because I have been in a Neverland mood, I created four printables perfect for a nursery or playroom.   I saved my favorite quote for last…”Little boys should never be sent to bed. They always wake up a day older.”  My little boy turns 8 months old this week and it’s killing me.  Sometimes I wish he would never grow up.

Stay Clever Little Fox Wall Art

Stay Clever Little Fox Wall Art

Ever since I was pregnant with Jonah my favorite animal has been a fox.  I have decorated his nursery and playroom in a woodland theme and always look for an excuse to buy something fox related.

Luckily you won’t have to buy anything at all because today’s freebie is a “Stay Clever Little Fox” printable.  It makes great wall art for your kid’s room and can even be used as a wallpaper for your phone.  I used a watercolor brush and handmade this little fox just for you.

Today’s freebie is for my parent readers! As a mom myself, I find it hard to get any alphabet printables for free. Even though Etsy has some really cute stuff I hate paying for anything.

I have been loving watercolors this summer. That’s what inspired me to create this Watercolor Alphabet Graphic, great for any nursery or playroom. It’s size 8.5 X 11 so go ahead and hit print!
